Sarahphotogirl at Scarborough’s Literature Festival

Sarahphotogirl as Little Red Riding Hood

This weekend I will be exhibiting my Fairytale ‘Dark Arts’ series at Scarborough Library as part of the Literature festival. I’m really delighted to have been asked and I hope you all enjoy seeing the pictures as they look so much better in the flesh!

I have never really spent enough time writing my blog but then there’s a big part of me that would rather be busy being creative than writing about myself so I suppose that makes sense.

Then there’s Twitter. It’s made my blogging world so much easier now I don’t feel obliged to write a whole novel everytime. So if it’s regular updates you’re after, please keep an eye on my Twitter page but if you want a thesis now and then, do drop in here.. it just may be more ‘then’ than ‘now’ if you get what I mean.

    Hello Sarahphotogirl.

Just a quick note to say I enjoyed looking at your display at the Literature Festival.

I’ve put a couple of links to your sites towards the end of this report:

If you’d like a picture or two to be featured in one of my future blog postings, just let me know.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Sarah

You must get this everyday but i think your work is brilliant, i love your unique choice of subject and that you are so creative in your work.

I am also from Scarborough and i am 14 years old. I like your work and i was just wondering if you could give my some tips and pointers on how to get into the industry and how you have developed your individual style in photography.

Obviously i am not trying to pinch your style but i take great inspiration from it and also one of my other favourite websites

It would be great if you could spare a couple of minutes to answer my questions.
    Thanks so much.
    Jacquetta x

    Hey Jacquetta

What a lovely name by the way!

Thanks for your email :) To answer your questions – persistence is what you need most of! It’s the only way to get into this industry – you need to keep on trying no matter what! As for my style – the best way to be individual is never to take lessons from anyone else. I am self taught and that’s why my style is my own :)

I hope this has helped a little.

All the best with your photography x
